Trial and error is a terrible way to find your true vocation

Vocation: A strong feeling of suitability for a particular career or occupation.
Suitability: The quality of being right or appropriate for a particular person, purpose, or situation.
Have you ever worked in job that felt like it was a perfect fit? If so, you are one of the fortunate few. 70% of workers are unhappy in their role and 23% are actively disengaged. If we do the math, that means only 7% of workers feel happy and engaged — only 7 out of 100 have found their vocation.
Most of us go through our entire careers making choices about where we work based on a combination of happenstance, luck, personal favors, or a slog of trial and error. It's that last bit where the true frustration comes into play because it is so pointless.
There's got to be a better way!
Let's face it, hiring entails a shameful amount of trial and error as well. Those who interview well aren't always those who work well. Employers know that it can be a crapshoot when bringing new people on-board because you never really know if someone can do the job well until they start doing the job.
There's got to be a better way!
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a simple yet accurate way to determine if person A was suitable for job X? What if there was a test or assessment that only took a few minutes to complete and provided answers about a job seeker's true vocation that were reliable and accurate? While we're on the track of wishful thinking, it would be amazing if this assessment produced results that were easy to understand and didn't need special training or high-priced consultants to interpret and implement.
The confluence of vocation and suitability between job seekers and employers looking for star workers would need to exist in a single tool.
That tool exists. It's called the Core Values Index psychometric assessment, and it solves every problem we have outlined in this article.
The CVI determines with 97.7% repeat reliability the suitability of a person to a role. It takes about 8 minutes to complete and doesn't require a fancy degree in Analytics and Voodoo to interpret, either.
Oh, and the CVI costs less than $50.
There really is a better way. Learn how:
