What Makes a Good Psychometric Assessment?
The hallmarks of a quality psychometric assessment are accuracy and reliability. It will accurately determine, measure, and report the psychometric profile of the individual, and it will produce the same results reliably no matter how many times it is taken.
An implicit characteristic of a quality psychometric assessment, especially regarding its reliability, is the inability of the individual taking it to manipulate or control their results. In other words, the person taking the assessment can't game the system.
Many of the people that take the Core Values Index (CVI) at eRep are job applicants. Employers posting job listings through eRep often require candidates to take the CVI as part of their application and screening process.
The Core Values Index has the highest repeat reliability of any psychometric assessment on the marketing today, 97.7%.
One of the common questions we get from both employers and job applicants is, "Can the CVI be taken in a way that deliberately skews their results?"
In a word, no.
If you've ever taken the CVI, you might recall the assessment format is unusual because it doesn't ask questions where the meaning or ideal answer can be guessed or determined. Instead, the person taking the assessment is presented groups of words. They are asked to chose two words from each group.
The Core Values Index psychometric assessment only takes 8 minutes to complete.
As you're taking the CVI you might think, "How could this possibly determine my psychometric profile?" The format of the assessment and its word-choice methodology may seem counterintuitive, but it is this format that actually makes the results so reliable.
Because the person taking the assessment can't guess what the intended outcome of their choices might be, it is nearly impossible to game the system to produce a desired profile. The profile is determined based on the person's underlying core personality.
The profile produced by the CVI is consistent and accurate to the individual.
Employers have come to rely on the CVI at eRep to screen job applicants. Individuals taking the CVI trust the results to be accurate and highly representative of the person they truly are.
If you have already taken the CVI, you can log into your account at eRep and review your report as often as you like.
If you haven't taken the CVI, now is the time. Go to erep.com/core-values-index/ and take your assessment today.
