The Next Level: Achieving Maturity in your CVI Profile

Find Your Perfect Career - Learn how to match your personality to the ideal job or career for you-risk free-$49.95

Many people that take the Core Values Index psychometric assessment glance briefly through their report — especially if they are primary Merchants or Builders; Bankers are the most likely profile to read every word — and then ask, "What next?"

We strongly encourage everyone that takes the CVI to read their full report. It is customized specifically for your particular core values profile and it contains valuable information from top to bottom, including:

  • Effective communications
  • Conflict resolution strategies
  • Understanding other profiles
  • Tips for improved relationships

Once you've read your report, what is the next level of understanding you can seek with your CVI profile? How do you take it to the next level?

The Recipe for CVI Maturity

What do we mean by "maturity in your CVI?"

Being mature in your CVI is a somewhat broad term that generally means you obtain a greater and deeper understanding of not only your own profile, but the core value profiles of others.

To many, that is considered to be the biggest benefit you can enjoy from taking the CVI.

The recipe for gaining maturity in your CVI includes a 60/40 blend of knowledge and exposure, respectively.

Maturity begins when you have read your full CVI report to understand the specifics of how you tick. This knowledge of your own personality's DNA is vital.

All other things being equal, it is better to understand yourself first before working to understand others.

Everyone with a full/upgraded CVI report can download The Core Values Handbook, a $19.95 value included free as part of your Full CVI report. It is a 173-page ebook that is the owner's manual for the CVI. Consider this your next homework assignment after reading your full CVI report.

Even if you don't read The Core Values Handbook cover to cover, it is a valuable reference that you can turn to when you have specific questions about the CVI.

The remaining 40% of your CVI's maturity comes through exposure to individuals who exemplify positive characteristics of each of the four core value energies.

Interact with individuals that represent the qualities you value and have profiles with primary scores in each of the four core value energies. The more exposure you have to these people, the more positive impact you will receive from their core value energy — kind of like psychometric osmosis.

Benefits

There are many benefits to being mature in your CVI, some of which include:

  • Deeper relationships
  • Greater career happiness
  • Enhanced proficiency at work
  • Improved communications

The qualities that benefit you the most will depend on your primary and secondary core value energies.

If you are a Builder, you will likely see greater efficiency and efficacy in your endeavors.

If you are a Banker, you will gather valuable knowledge about how the CVI works.

If you are an Innovator, you will be more capable at solving interpersonal challenges.

If you are a Merchant, you will enhance your relationships.

These are just a tiny fraction of the benefits you will see when you gain the knowledge and exposure needed to become mature in your core values profile.
