Get Into The Happiness Loop

What makes you happy is based on your emotional hardwiring—an innate part of who you are.
You can't change it, just as you can't swap out your DNA. It's built into your design, the deep wiring that influences how you think, feel, and engage with the world. What you do with your time and energy, however, is up to you. When your actions line up with your hardwiring, happiness follows naturally. It's less about forcing yourself into someone else's definition of success, and more about embracing your own.
Why Happiness Feels "Off" Sometimes
Think about the times you've tried to make yourself fit into a role or activity that just didn't feel right. Maybe you worked in a job that demanded skills you didn't enjoy using. Or perhaps you pushed yourself to engage in hobbies that felt more like obligations than fun. That uncomfortable, unnatural feeling is your inner wiring telling you, This isn't me.
It's like walking around in shoes that don't fit—they may look fine, but they'll leave you limping by the end of the day.
Engaging in activities that go against your emotional hardwiring is just like that: uncomfortable, draining, and unsustainable. The truth is, your happiness is directly linked to how closely your daily choices match your authentic self.
The DNA of Joy
True joy doesn't come from outside recognition, possessions, or sheer willpower. It comes from knowing your personality's DNA—your emotional hardwiring—and then leaning into it.
Each of us has unique core drivers that influence what lights us up. For some, it's solving problems with creativity and insight. For others, it's building things, making decisions, or taking tangible action. Some thrive on connecting with people and nurturing relationships, while others feel happiest when analyzing data, maintaining order, or ensuring fairness. These patterns are stable and unchanging across your lifetime.
Once you understand the "what" and "why" of these drivers, making choices gets easier. Instead of stumbling into trial and error—hoping something will make you happy—you begin to intentionally pursue the kinds of activities that align with your nature. That's when happiness feels natural, almost effortless.
The Happiness Loop Effect
Here's where it gets really exciting.
When you willfully engage in activities that align with your innate hardwiring, something powerful happens: you create a happiness loop.
At first, you feel good simply because you're in alignment with your authentic self. But then the joy you experience fuels your energy, motivation, and clarity. That energy, in turn, makes it even easier to keep choosing aligned activities. And so the cycle continues. You've essentially created a "doubling effect" where happiness feeds on itself, looping back to reinforce the very behaviors that made you happy in the first place.
It may sound recursive, and it is! But that's exactly the point. Once you're in the loop, it becomes a self-sustaining rhythm of joy and fulfillment.
Why Your Happiness Loop Matters Today
In our fast-paced, achievement-driven culture, it's easy to mistake busyness for happiness. We cram our schedules with activities, obligations, and distractions, hoping they'll fill the void. But more often than not, they just leave us exhausted.
The difference between true fulfillment and burnout is whether or not those activities align with your emotional hardwiring. That's why self-awareness is so powerful.
It's not about doing more, it's about doing what fits you.
And here's the liberating part: you don't have to compare your path to anyone else's. What brings joy to your best friend, coworker, or sibling might not light you up at all. And that's okay.
Happiness isn't a competition; it's a personal alignment.
Getting Started on Your Happiness Loop
So how do you discover your emotional hardwiring? You can't just guess it, and you can't always see it clearly on your own. That's where tools like the Core Values Index™ (CVI) come in.
The CVI is the only assessment that measures the innate, unchanging nature within you. It measures the core values energies that define how you're wired to act, think, and contribute. Unlike personality tests that measure behaviors (which can shift depending on circumstances), the CVI goes deeper, mapping out your emotional DNA.
By understanding your CVI profile, you'll discover not just what you're good at, but why certain activities energize you while others drain you.
It's like holding a mirror to your true self and finally seeing your unique design clearly. With that knowledge, you can start intentionally creating a life that keeps you in alignment and in the happiness loop.
Be Encouraged
Happiness isn't a mystery, and it isn't a moving target. It's a matter of alignment with your emotional hardwiring.
The more you live in tune with your true self, the more joy naturally flows into your life. And once you step into that loop, happiness has a way of multiplying itself.
The best way to start? Take the Core Values Index. It's the most accurate, reliable, and insightful way to discover your emotional hardwiring and uncover what truly makes you happy. If you've been waiting for a sign to stop chasing happiness and start living it, this is it. Step into alignment, get into the loop, and let happiness do what it was always meant to do: grow.
