Job Summary:
As the Young Parent Program
Coordinator, you will ensure program objectives and deliverables are met
according to contract and grant agreements. Your core responsibilities as the
Young Parent Program Coordinator will include providing home visits, family
support services, parenting skills and child development education to young
parents (18 to 25) living in or near the poverty threshold in Portland Oregon.

Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: meet with Young Parent Participants regularly, facilitate Young Parent Groups, and coordinate and track family engagement
- Case Management and Data Management: adhere to documentation requirements including accurate data entry into student files, ISP-s, weekly/monthly reports, and case notes; collect, analyze and report on outcomes; monitor grant requirements
- Team Collaboration: weigh in on strategic plans for the Department that relate to the future of youth and parent/family involvement programming and community engagement, attend regular staff meetings and support Department events
Qualifications
Personal Requirements:
- Ability to assess risk factors, protective factors, personal and evaluation needs to develop appropriate individual interventions or case plans
- Ability to build effective, trusting relationships with young people and parents
- Ability to identify and appropriately engage adolescents with mental health, drug and alcohol issues
- Knowledge of community resources and referral/follow-up processes
- Strong writing skills
- Driver-s license, access to a personal vehicle and ability to meet our insurability requirements
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Bachelor-s degree required or equivalent
- 2-3 years related experience in case management and/or program management
- Experience working with young adults and families
- Experience recruiting and maintaining program participants
- Experience working with communities of color, and particular African American women
