Position Summary: ROBO is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. This role is designed for a skilled Engineer who excels at tackling complex network challenges, supporting infrastructure projects, and ensuring client environments run smoothly and securely. You will be a key player in monitoring and responding to network alerts, resolving escalated tickets, and deploying advanced networking and security solutions.

As part of the NOC team, you'll collaborate closely with peers and project managers on client-facing initiatives such as infrastructure deployments, network upgrades, and cloud integrations. The role is primarily based at our Austin HQ, with occasional on-site client work as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot escalated network issues both on-site and remotely, including routing, switching, wireless, and connectivity problems
  • Monitor, review, and resolve NOC alerts and tickets to ensure uptime and network stability
  • Review and handling of NOC tickets
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as switches, routers, access points, and firewalls
  • Deploy and support firewall and security solutions (e.g., Sophos, WatchGuard, Cisco, Ruckus, UniFi)
  • Assist with client projects, including infrastructure deployments, network upgrades, and cloud implementations
  • Work with the NOC team to improve monitoring, response, and escalation processes
  • Document work, network configurations, and changes accurately within ROBO systems and tools
  • Collaborate with project managers and other technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with client needs
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for escalations and urgent issues
  • Stay current with networking technologies and certifications to support continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications

  • MSP or NOC experience is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with common MSP/NOC toolsets (HaloPSA, Ninja RMM, LogicMonitor, ITGlue, Sophos) is preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a networking engineering, Tier 3, or senior technical support role
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and technologies including VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless
  • Experience with firewall and network security solutions (e.g., Sophos, WatchGuard, Cisco, Ruckus, UniFi)
  • Industry certifications such as:
  • CompTIA Network+ (required or equivalent experience)
  • CCNA or higher (preferred)
  • Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, or related) is a plus
  • Task-driven, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accurate documentation and change management
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local client sites
