Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing community-based diversion services for youth and provide intervention and assertive engagement for youth and their families with the goal of preventing further referral or deeper involvement in the Washington County juvenile justice system by performing the following duties:

1. Provides overall administration, planning, evaluation, and development of the day-to-day operations of the Washington County Contracts.
2. Provides, assertive engagement, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention to a caseload of youth. 3. Focus will be with the families of the youth to provide support, education, training, and advocacy navigating other systems.
4. Assesses and implements strength-based individual success plans built on culturally specific and evidenced-based practices to help participants develop and reach goals.
5. Works collaboratively with other professionals in the field including schools, community-based organizations, Mental Health/ Alcohol and Drug organizations, Child Welfare, Washington County Juvenile Department, Washington County Health, Housing and Human Services, and the Oregon Youth Authority


 

Job Duties:

-       Participate in the Steering Committee that meets quarterly, made up of justice system partners, school representatives, law enforcement personnel, juvenile justice representatives and other community partners working with youth, to collectively provide support and thinking on program development and delivery.

-       Works collaboratively with other professionals in the field including schools, community-based organizations, Mental Health/ Alcohol and Drug organizations, Child Welfare, Washington County Juvenile Department, Washington County Health, Housing and Human Services, and the Oregon Youth Authority.

-       Meet regularly with Juvenile Department liaisons and community partners that support the referral process, program development, are available for case staffing and decision making as needed regarding youth program success, case closure or referral back to the Juvenile Department and file expunction.

-       Complete and deliver to the Juvenile Department the paperwork and forms identified to support communication and appropriate release of information, youth engagement and completion of the program and any other identified documentation needed.

-       Supervise and lead a team of staff committed to the growth and healing of youth and families connected with the Washington County Juvenile Division.

-       Ensure objectives and deliverables are met according to contract and grant agreements.

-       Connection of youth/families with skill-building and pro-social activities within their community.

Experience/Education Requirements:

-       Bachelor-s degree with two or more years- of demonstrated case management experience.

-       Possesses strong cultural competency and an understanding of social service practices

and experience working with families from diverse backgrounds.

-       Experience with crisis intervention, community networking and resource development.

-       Excellent organizational, time management, and reporting skills to manage multiple projects, set priorities, collaborate with stakeholders, and meet deadlines.

-       Experience in creating and maintaining organizational systems for tracking program information.

-       Drive and determination for innovative program development, implementation, and evaluation.

 

Certifications:

 

-       Must possess a valid insurable Driver-s License.
