Job Summary:
As the Internship Supervisor, you will help individuals (primarily ages 16-24 years old) who are experiencing barriers to employment navigate a multi-step internship and learning program. This program allows individuals to gain the skills, access, and confidence needed for a successful transition to stable and productive position in the workforce.
Responsibilities
Researches, conducts outreach to, and builds relationships with prospective internship sites willing to hire POIC program participants.
Manages participant on-boarding process in accordance with federal and state law, including new hire orientation and paperwork, work eligibility verification, and electronic on-boarding into the HRIS system.
Documents all participant and employer contact, activities, and outcomes in the case management system.
Customizes participants- resumes to fit identified opportunities.
Matches program participants with internship opportunities, taking into consideration each participant-s skills, work experience, interests, and goals and aspirations.
Schedules and conducts daily prospecting, cold calls, and face-to-face meetings.
Achieves weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual internship metric goals in accordance with POIC-s contractual obligations.
Evaluates labor market data to determine employer demand and usage of POIC services to open doors for POIC youth.
Develops and implements internship and learning services program that ensures POIC participant experience is positive and funder compliance is prioritized.
Qualifications
Personal Requirements:
- Passionate about the mission of POIC + RAHS and supporting underserved populations
- Strong cultural competency
- Dedication to social justice
- Valid driver license, acceptable driving record, and access to an insured vehicle required
Experience/Education Requirements:
Bachelor-s degree in social work (BSW), psychology, counseling, criminology or a related social/behavioral science field
Two years- experience in workforce development, recruitment, or sales/account management in which quotas are met on a regular basis
OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Knowledge of criminal justice system and/or experience with ex-offenders is preferred
