Description
We are looking for a self-motivated, knowledgeable Journeyman Carpenter who likes to run their own jobs. You will be able to drive high quality project startup, management, and completion. You will be adept at communicating with team members, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers. You will have the ability to review job requirements, and anticipate the needs and schedules required to meet identified timelines. You will provide excellent leadership to the team members, and provide training and guidance to less experienced team members working for you. You will have a high attention to detail, and a focus on jobsite safety. This is a small General Contractor located in Portland, Oregon that specializes in high end residential remodeling and commercial tenant improvements. You will be a "bags on" jobsite supervisor that we refer to as a "Lead Carpenter."
Responsibilities
- Pre-construction planning
- Plan and specification review
- Daily communication and job logs
- Plan and direct all required work completion
- Work completion in a timely manner
- Plan and ensure all materials and tools are scheduled for anticipated work
- Review job estimate and budget to ensure job is financially on track
- Solution development and execution
Qualifications
- 6 years experience as a Journeyman Carpenter, Jobsite Supervisor, or Lead Carpenter
- Knowledge of how to read and interpret plans, engineering, and specifications
- Proficiency in framing, trim, window/door installation, siding, flooring, concrete, roofing, casework/cabinetry
- Clean driving and criminal record
- Ownership of basic hand tools and power tools
- Ownership of reliable transportation
- Basic computer skills and the ability to communicate via phone, texting, and email
