We-re in search of a Senior Property Accountant who is an experienced, proactive and detail-oriented team player to oversee the accurate and efficient operation of property management accounting system and to ensure that the financial accounts of the organization meet the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Work with Quickbooks to ensure
accurate expense/payment capturing and production of monthly corporate
financial statements
- Produce Monthly/Quarterly/T12, Rent
Roll, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet property-level reporting.
- Comply with financial policies and
procedures and incorporate into our team-s constantly evolving culture
- Direct property accounting team
and department, provide clear goals and training to team member(s)
- Maintain accurate financial
records, preparation of financial reports, processing accounts payable and
receivable, reconciling bank statement, managing budgets, and assisting with
audits
- Process CAPEX requests, tracking
spend and capitalization of assets
- Oversee Tax & Insurance and
CAPEX reserve accounts to insure monthly transfer to/from are utilized and
recorded per requirements
- Review and reconcile bank
accounts, property management software reports, and financial statements
monthly
- Oversee property financial audits,
tax filings, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee processing of vendor
billings and payments and maintain complete and accurate accounts payable
records. Prepare and process A/P checks,
wires and ACH transfers
- Review and process payroll, insure
proper billback allocations, and provide accurate reporting
- Ensure all Annual Reports, State
and Government filings are filed and paid on time, including property tax and mortgage
payments for our clients.
- Ability to multi-task, meet
frequent deadlines, prioritize, and have strong organization, time management,
and problem-solving skills
- Prepare 1099-s
- Support providing accounting
assistance when needed to owners, cpa-s and tenants.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting
experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in property management
accounting or real estate accounting
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills
- Proficiency with Financial/ERP
software, Quickbooks and in property management CRM software, AppFolio
preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP,
internal controls, and financial reporting
- Strong computer skills with
proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Excel, Word, Outlook and TEAMS)
- Excellent analytical,
organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently,
manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Corporate office-based position
