Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fashion-forward manager / stylist to join our tight-knit team in the Pearl District. Our main objective? Using our unique and contemporary products to make people feel confident, fabulous, and ready to take on anything.

We are Garnish, a Portland boutique featuring our own line of clothing, accessories, and jewelry which is designed in-house and made locally and sustainably.

Responsibilities

  • Giving customers (of all shapes, sizes, races and ages) a highly personalized experience with thoughtful, careful personal styling recommendations

  • Creating and building genuine connection with customers while working independently

  • Setting, meeting and exceeding sales targets and goals for walk-in sales, appointments, and parties

  • Consistently developing ways to increase store traffic and improve overall sales

  • Confidently and consistently reaching out to customers to arrange stylist appointments and tell them about new product

  • Styling clients in after-hours shopping parties (to include pre and post party duties)

  • Leading, guiding and supporting a team of sales associates

  • Training new team members on product knowledge, sales techniques and superior customer service skills

  • Assisting with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise

  • Handling customer inquiries, returns and complaints in a professional and courteous manner

  • Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of retail sales experience in a leadership role and preferably high-end clothing

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain productivity during slower times

  • Proficiency in point-of-sale software, the internet, social media & Google Docs. (Bonus skills: Mailchimp, Shopify, Quickbooks, Illustrator and Photoshop)

  • Effective written and oral English language skills

  • Ability to climb a ladder, stand for extended periods of time, and lift 25-50 pounds occasionally

  • This is a full time position with 28 - 40 hrs scheduled per week

  • Must have the availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, occasional nights (1 - 4 per month for parties), long and short shifts. Holiday availability is required.
