Company Overview: York Bros is a full-service excavation, grading and site work contractor serving Central Oregon with the right equipment and knowledgeable staff to complete your project.

Position Summary: We are looking for a driven and action-oriented Foreman to run our client projects. The Foreman role is critical to the success of York Bros. and plays a vital part in completing projects. This position is onsite daily, managing a team, project schedule and coordinating vendors from start to finish on each job. An important aspect of this job is the project review and end of day reporting that needs to be submitted for optimal productivity and profitability.

The York Bros. Excavation Foreman will be the first and primary line of communication between the Company and the personnel on the job. This position will also be expected to interface with the Client ensuring their concerns are communicated to appropriate Company personnel. The Foreman is responsible to know and understand the project and see that it is completed on time and on budget and to the highest level of satisfaction possible.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
  • Daily collaboration with Company management prior to daily crew meetings at 6:30a regarding: Personnel, Vendors, Materials, Tools, Equipment
  • Work with management to determine progress toward budgeted project components and timelines
  • Coordinate scheduling of vendors and subcontractors
  • Maintain a daily log and pictorial documentation for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
  • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements on job site

Qualifications

  • Excavation experience preferred
  • Foreman or Supervisor/Lead experience preferred
  • Crew and/or Equipment experience is required
  • Self-starter
  • Strong scheduling and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and decipher plans, specs and codes
  • Working knowledge of GPS technology
