Description
Gerding Builders is a General Contractor/Construction Management company, located in beautiful Corvallis, Oregon. The firm is comprised of knowledgeable Project Managers and Project Engineers with expertise in a large variety of markets and a wide range of projects. Projects include Commercial, Medical, Institutional, Non-profits, K-12, Higher Education and Multi-Family projects spanning the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Coast. We take ownership for delivering each project on schedule, under budget, without safety incidents, with a high degree of quality, and with a professionalism and level of service that exceeds the expectations of our customers.
Gerding Builders is offering a position of Project Engineer as we continue to align with the growing needs of our customers. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, effective and practical-minded.
Responsibilities

Assist with master scheduling and look-ahead scheduling
Assist with budget control, subcontract management, billings, and payments
Assist with safety orientations, meetings, and reporting
Communicate with subcontractors, designers, and other project stakeholders

Maintain up-to-date project records and documentation (electronic and hard copy)
Ensure project quality by managing submittals and RFI-s
- Deliver timely and accurate takeoffs from construction drawings when required
- Meet deadlines
- Verbal and written communication and collaboration is imperative to evaluate documents and advise Project Managers on areas where drawings or specifications are incomplete and require clarifications and allowances
- Prioritize responsibilities in order to manage several projects simultaneously
- Develop subcontractor relationships and solicit sub-coverage
Qualifications
- 4yr college degree preferred
- 1 year experience required in the construction industry
- Verbal and written communication and collaboration
- Strong work ethic
- 2 professional and 2 personal references (when required)
