quality services in education, mentoring, family outreach, employment training
and placement.

Job
Summary:
This position is responsible for directing and
coordinating educational, administrative, and counseling activities of the
school by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate
supervisors.
Essential Duties
1. Guides the development
of school curriculum, policies, systems, and structures.
2. Develops clear,
measurable goals focused on critical needs leading to school-wide improvement.
3. Builds and establishes
a strong school culture focused on building leadership capacity of all staff
members.
Job
Duties
-
Coordinates
procedures in connection with broad facets of POIC programs.
-
Develops
and maintains a knowledge base of pedagogical practices (including but not
limited to: Understanding by Design, Project Based Learning, Differentiated
Instruction, and Academic Mindsets).
-
Ensures
instructional staff understands and work to develop classrooms and curricula
that support RAHS mission and effectively reach all students.
-
Stays
current on local and national trends and best practices in both alternative and
traditional education.
-
Ensures
the maintenance and upkeep of facilities while working collaboratively with
other operational staff.
-
Upholds
all school regulations in accordance with POIC practices and protocols.
-
Monitors
school security and safety.
-
Develops
and coordinates school calendar and events.
-
Oversees
administrative duties including but not limited to: budget, grant management,
and human resources.
-
Advocates
for at-risk youth and their families, enabling them to gain access to resources
and support services.
-
Manages,
analyzes, and reports data for individual student progress and school-wide
improvement.
-
Develops
new strategies for monitoring and charting student social and emotional growth.
-
Oversees
student behavioral and academic disciplinary procedures in consultation with
POIC/RAHS management and staff.
-
Aligns
students and families with support services within the POIC framework and with
outside agencies.
-
Works
collaboratively with POIC program directors to develop organizational strategy
and direction.
-
Develops
and maintains partnerships with local agencies, school districts and
organizations.
-
Promotes
the mission and vision of the organization to schools, the community
stakeholders, and partnering agencies.
-
Stays
current with research and literature in the field of education, school
leadership and management techniques.
-
Develops
innovative strategies to support students and families served by POIC.
-
Possesses
demonstrated record of effective people and project management.
-
Upholds
effective consensus-building and negotiation skills.
-
Maintains
flexible mindset focused on continuous school improvement.
-
Works
with staff to develop, implement, monitor and adjust school wide and individual
student plans and interventions.
-
Ensures
that all stakeholders understand school wide goals and objectives.
-
Engages
partnering districts in ongoing conversations about traditionally marginalized
communities through the lens of advocacy and support.
-
Communicates
RAHS program needs and opportunities within the broader POIC organization.
-
Consults
with students and families regarding student progress.
-
Develops
trusting relationships with students and families and works with staff to
positively resolve conflict at school and in the community.
-
Supports
teaching staff in the development of engaging and relevant curriculum using
assessment to drive and shape new instructional practices.
-
Creates
buy-in among faculty for actions required to promote high standards of learning
and engagement.
-
Creates
clear expectations for faculty to maintain high standards for student learning.
-
Maintains
careful, detail-oriented data management and analysis skills.
-
Evaluates
and provides consistent and thoughtful feedback to teaching and support staff.
-
Excels
in staff management and interpersonal interaction, engaging and developing
others through servant leadership practices, maintains strong ability to lead
others with differing levels of experience, and the ability to teach and be
taught by staff.

Adheres
to organization-s equity policy.
-
Ensures
that staff and participants from all cultural, linguistic, and gender groups
are welcomed and served.

Maintains
punctual, regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications:

Experience/Education
Requirements:
Bachelor-s degree or equivalent in education
or related field required, Master-s degree preferred. Seven to ten years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Three or more years of teaching at-risk high
school students and five or more years of leading and coaching adults.
Experience in a variety of school settings and is familiar with standard
practices and polices characteristic of public and private
schools/organizations. Experience working restoratively with students with
emotional and behavior struggles.
