Position: Installation Technician

Position Summary: We are looking for knowledgeable and solution-oriented installers to work with our residential clients. Our Installers are expected to lead and execute small projects independently, handling installations such as wiring homes, setting up basic TV and audio systems, configuring simple home networks (e.g. eero) and programming of universal remotes (e.g. URC). Installation Technicians play a key role in starting projects, driving them forward and working with customers to problem-solve any issues. Reporting to Integration Specialists and Project Managers, this role will ensure client projects are completed to the customer's satisfaction on-time and on-budget. This role is important to the company as the Installers are the face of the Company and need to be competent and results-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure basic TV and audio systems, ensuring proper functionality and alignment with client expectations
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during or after installation, providing proper solutions to while maintaining quality and project timelines
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operations and ensure customer satisfaction, including demonstration of system
  • Pre-wire or retrofit low voltage systems
  • Hook-up equipment (hang TVs, fine-tune audio/video systems for optimal performance, run wire, etc.)
  • Programming of equipment
  • Set-up networks, with proper labeling
  • Install, set-up and program Shades and Lighting control systems
  • Manage wire to NEC standards, all while making projects look presentable for clients
  • Complete all project phases, from pre-wiring to final installation in an effective and efficient manner
  • Conduct system tests after installation to verify systems are functioning as expected
  • Train and mentor Install Assistants on the job

Qualifications

  • Experience in system installations, wiring and set-up, ideally within the custom integration or AV industry
  • Uphold and promote SERA Custom Integrators' core values of Integrity, Efficiency, Community, Perserverance and Innovation in all aspects of the installation
  • Strong technical knowledge of basic home entertainment systems, audio-visual installations and simple networking solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for resolving minor technical issues on-site
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality installations on time and withing scope
  • Ability to read blueprints, design plans and follow them to completion
  • Construction experience is helpful in the role, working in new construction quite often
