Company Overview: York Bros is a full-service excavation, grading and site work contractor serving Central Oregon with the right equipment and knowledgeable staff to complete your project.

Position: Estimator

Position Summary: York Bros is looking for a tenacious and organized Estimator to identify and respond to bid opportunities for the company. This role is critical for the business as this person is responsible for the entire bid process, from RFP to final submission. The Estimator at York Bros works on multiple bids per week, and is expected to meet all deadlines with accuracy and detail. This This role is mostly in our office, with about 10% of the time spent in the Field.

Salary: $95,000 to $110,000/ year

Responsibilities

  • Know all current, upcoming, and potential projects in our marketplace
  • Perform itemized takeoffs and ensure data and information collected is accurate
  • Build estimates into civil engineering software (Bid2Win)
  • Develop complete understanding of the specifications and plans necessary to develop a competent and thorough bid
  • Convey the unique market proposition of the Company by bringing the best competency and client understanding to the proposed projects
  • Communicate with management team on bid and project status, along with potential concerns
  • Meet bid deadlines with independence and accountability
  • Work in conjunction with the PM to ensure project is completed to specifications
  • Look for ways to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the Company-s estimations and client communications and work with appropriate team members to develop better systems and processes

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years or more of Civil Engineering Estimating experience
  • Bachelor-s degree in Civil Engineering or construction degree preferred
  • Civil Engineering software experience required (Bid2Win/Heavy Jobs, etc.)
  • Team-player, reliable and dependable
  • Commitment to success of organization
