Summary:

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive assessments and support to students and their families within the Rosemary Anderson High School community by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

1. Provides a range of intensive support using a targeted tiered system for crisis management, individual and/or family ounseling, skills group, and universal school support.

2. Provides individual skills focusing on mental health and mood regulation strategies.

3. Completes required client-related paperwork, including federal and state-mandated forms, mental health documentation (medical necessity for insurance, diagnostic summary, treatment plan, session notes, and program reports.

4. Conducts training and builds school and community support for delivery of effective school-based mental health services to students and their families through Culturally Responsive Trauma-Informed Care.

  Job Duties

- Enhances school climate and broadly promotes behavioral health, wellness, and school success for students, families and staff by conducting on-going needs assessments, building relationships and systematically seeking to reduce stigma.

- Conducts assessments, creates and follows treatment plans, collaborates with school staff, caregivers, and other involved providers.

- Adheres to professional standards for record keeping and documentation for timely payment from insurance companies.

- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with youth and families of color.

- Delivers a range of health promoting and preventive interventions, including those focusing on resilience, wellness and effective coping skills.

- Delivers, evaluates and continuously improves interventions through the use of standardized measures and outcomes.

- Conducts training and builds school and community support for delivery of effective school based mental health services to students and their families.

- Assists in the coordination and facilitation of group services and provides weekly individual services for adolescents.

- Maintains accurate and confidential records and adheres to high ethical and professional standards.

- Meets periodically with other staff to obtain feedback necessary for case management and treatment planning.

- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.

- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

- Respectfully takes direction from manager.

Experience/Education Requirements:
Master-s degree from a four-year college or university in social work, psychology, or mental health counseling or a closely related mental health field (QMHP) with a minimum of three years- related experience with adolescents and families. Experience working with communities of color, in particular African-American and Latino youth and their families. Experience with crisis intervention, community networking, and resource development.

 Valid and insurable driver license
