Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled IT Field Specialist (Tier 2) to join our team. This hybrid role involves working both in our office and at client locations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up desktops and laptops, providing basic IT support, and ensuring seamless technology operations for our clients. To be successful, the candidate must be well prepared, organized, have the ability to document work activity, prioritize multiple tasks and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Client Interaction: Work directly with clients, internal staff, and third-party vendors
  • Remote Support: Provide remote assistance for desktop, server, and network issues
  • Desktop and Laptop Setup: Install, configure, and deploy desktops and laptops for clients, ensuring all necessary software and hardware are properly set up
  • Documentation: Document real-time ticket updates and follow internal procedures
  • On-Site Support: Be available to travel on-site to various clients while working from ROBO headquarters in Austin
  • Network Equipment: Setup and install firewalls, switches, and access points
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure comprehensive support and service delivery including project work

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent experience in IT support, preferably within an MSP environment
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), Microsoft Outlook, and Office Suite
  • Experience with networking equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Certifications in IT is highly preferred (A+ Certified, Network+)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused attitude
