Play to Your Strengths

Find the Best Job For You - Get your Personalized Career Guide tailored to match your personality, now included with the Core Values Index, just $49.95

Can you win in life if you are playing from a position of weakness? Will you reach your goals if you aren't operating at the peak of your potential? Get this life hack to help you play to your strengths.

When it comes to personal growth and happiness, there is one piece of wisdom and advice that stands above all the rest. Can you guess what it is?

First, know thyself.

If you don't establish the foundation of understanding who you are and learn about your innate and unchanging nature, everything that comes afterward is a crapshoot.

Without discovering your personality's DNA, your life will be an endless cycle of trial and error.

When it comes to achieving your goals, be they modest or grand, the second most important piece of wisdom and advice is:

Play to your strengths.

Can you play to your strengths if you don't know what they are? No, you can't.

So let's revisit the first bit of advice: know thyself. How do you do that?

Most people are biased when it comes to self-reflection. Can you relate to these statements?

"I am my own worst critic."
"I feel out of my depth and I'm afraid others will discover this at any moment."

Or...

"Everything I touch turns to gold. I can do no wrong!"

(Not all self-biases are in the negative; some are delusional toward the egocentric end of the spectrum.)

Regardless of your self-view, it's very rare for anyone to have a 100% accurate perspective of their own learned abilities and innate aptitudes or talents.

To get an accurate picture of yourself, you need an outside perspective that isn't skewed or biased. This eliminates asking other people, even folks that don’t know you personally. Everyone has unconscious biases to one extent or another.

Where do you turn to get an accurate and reliable picture of your emotional drivers and innate, unchanging nature?

There is a way to discover your true nature and it only takes about 8 minutes.

→ Take the Core Values Index™ psychometric assessment and personality test. It has a repeat reliability rating of 97.7%, which makes it the world's most accurate and reliable personality assessment available today.

In the simplest terms possible, the CVI describes the ratio of four personality types within you called core value energies. It describes those four core value energies, and your scores represent how much of them exist in your emotional hardwiring.

Your CVI profile describes what makes you happy and why.

You will have a much greater chance of success engaging in activities that line up with your psychometric profile — what makes you happy — than if you are constantly trying to be someone you're not.

Doing what makes you happiest is where you find your strength.

To do that, you must first know yourself by taking the CVI.
